I was a victim of a crime!

I went to an ATM to get some cash since I hate writing checks. I just think that check writing is archaic, subservient, and time consuming, plus, it holds up the line. The person in front of my at the grocery store filling out a Joan Collins novel while my ice cream melts should be told that can’t take part in capitalistic ventures anymore. At the ATM, my balance was off causing me to lose my balance. (I was driving but you get the point.)So I had this nice lady run off my statement and sure enough, there was a large number that was unaccounted for. I contacted my friend Chris at the bank and she began to recite some online purchases with a question mark tone in her voice. “H.P. Store? Online Bid? Oh my, Yahoo Personals and Match dot COM? What have you been doing?”I informed her that those were not my charges and she informed me that my debit card had been compromised. We went through the list to see what may be mine and what may be the crooks. Table 7? She knew that was mine. Levi dot Com? Thief’s. If I needed Levi’s I would go to Linton’s Big R, not order them online. She quickly cancelled my card and issued me a new one. I would meet with the bank the next day but that night, I wanted to string up this Jean wearing dateless wonder by his Yahoo personal. Both the Chief and Detective Dave Brown had some stories. Always check your statements, always destroy your documents, and, by the way, the Powell Police is running an awareness campaign on fraud this week. Isn’t that ironic. Dave had said that he has been a victim too. One time, he had a Pets mart charge of over two thousand dollars. Bad Fluffy! He said that one person charged his account a large amount of rubles that went to a charity. Thank you Comrade Brown!I met a nice girl named Molly to discuss my account. Good news, the card was switched before any of the big charges came through. We will contest the Levi charge and the company should refund my money. So according to the police, I’m not a victim after all. I just feel like one. I found out that there is software that can help you find credit card numbers that may or may not work. Sometimes, there is a middleman that takes the merchandise and these scammers are all over the world.

I’m just happy that this jerk won’t get his computer and despite wearing his new Levi’s, he will be denied his date by Match dot Com.
